Description
On very rare occasions, when conditions are just right, Mount Rainier's shadow is cast upon the understory of a fiery cloud layer by the first glints of the morning sun. This photo was taken Oct. 26, 2011 from Yelm, Wash. USA, and appears to be the first time this phenomenon has been captured since 1978.

Magnificent photography, Sean! I saw this scene once many, too many years ago, looking out my window from Olympia, and have never forgotten it. I am delighted you captured it so well. Fav'd.
